This was SEMANTICS 2019

September 26, 2019 by Thomas Thurner

We chose Karlsruhe for the 15th edition of the SEMANTiCS conference series. A place we know as Germany's hotspot for technology. And indeed it was a great event having an on-the-edge topic on our agenda: Knowledge Graphs and AI.

Researchers, professionals, and practitioners attended made a - for the SEMANTICS conference typical - mix of participants and made it a real forum of cross-sectoral and cross-professional exchange.

We are happy to have attracted 430 participants - more than ever before. And we have to thank for all the contributions: 65 talks, 31 posters, 9 workshops, 5 keynotes, and 23 supporters. All in all, coming from a total of 31 different countries. The workshop track provided the environment for in-deep discussion and learning on the recent trends in Semantic AI, and was attended by up to 180 experts. So again SEMANTiCS provided the annual forum for discussion and learning about the latest and advanced topics in Semantic Web Technologies.

Besides the talks and presentations, the conference provided plenty of room for networking and knowledge transfer. Most of all, the marketplace with all exhibitors gave new insights into new products. Our MeetUp and DBpedia Day concludes a vital, vibrant, and differentiated experience for the visitors.
