The European Commission is collecting structured data from many sources, in particular from its member states. There are scenarios where this data is distributed, heterogeneous and published with different schemas. We present how such data is aggregated and integrated at the European Commission using a Knowledge Graph which is called "EU Knowledge Graph".

While most content management systems offer taxonomy management as a non-intuitive bolt-on feature, Tridion CMS comes with a far superior way. It approaches ‘human-in-the-loop’ in a way that is non-intrusive, respectful of the author’s time, and intelligent.

Recommender systems are widely used in e-commerce platforms, where users regularly receive unsuitable tips, because they are based on the principle ‘suggest more of the same’. In other words: I buy a couch and get recommended another couch the next time I’m on the website.

The H2020 InterConnect project aims to improve the semantic interoperability in the smart home, building and grid domain. The project has a budget of 35 million euro’s and gathers 50 European entities from 11 countries. An vital component for success is its interoperability layer, which allows platforms, services and devices (knowledge bases) from different vendors to exchange data.

Knowledge graphs are increasingly becoming important in the AI world as an enabling technology for data integration and analytics, semantic search and question answering, and other cognitive applications. However, developing and maintaining large knowledge graphs in a manual way is too expensive and time consuming.

At ZiN a design an implementation is being made for better quality reporting from nursing homes in The Netherlands. A program called kik-v.nl is executed. Each nursing home will get a RDF datastation that can be queried by other organisations that are interested (or forced) in health and financial quality data e.g. Nederlandse Zorg Autoriteit.

Knowledge Graphs are increasingly being developed and leveraged in academia and industry to tackle complex biomedical challenges, such as drug discovery and safety, medical literature search, clinical knowledge management, and disease monitoring.

In the datafication of juridical texts in real estate we combine a complete round-trip set of semantic web technogies. We built a skos-based taxonomy to organize the knowledge we derive from the text models and translate that knowledge into an ontology. The result is an rdf-a document that contains all the relevant data that conforms to the ontology and is self-explaining by the taxonomy.
